With more kilometres of canal than Venice, Birmingham plays host to the start of the English leg of the World Tour. Starting just outside the Bullring the riders will quickly leave Birmingham and start heading south for London.

The first stop on this jaunt is through Stratford-upon-Avon. It was here that renowned poet and playwright William Shakespeare was born. From here the riders will make their way to Oxford, home to the oldest university in England.

From here the race heads to the heart of the British capital. Whilst travelling around this city the riders will regret not having their cameras on them, after passing Wembley Stadium, the home ground for the English football team, the race will go past Hyde Park and travel through Monopoly famous Mayfair and swanky Soho.

The race then takes a right turn onto Whitehall to bring the riders to the Palace of Westminster where you can find the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, a sharp right here sees the riders go past St James Park and then get their first view of Buckingham Palace, the London residence of the British Monarch. At the end of the park the route brings two right hand turns to bring the sprint trains onto the Mall. 800m down is the finish line.

The winner will not just be the best sprinter but will require: a strong lead out train, the cyclists to have great handling skills round the tight London corners and of course, a little bit of luck.
